Mental Roots offers the following services to schools, colleges, universities, and professionals:

Workshops

Part of our animation-focused mission is to design and run personalised, culturally competent animation workshops in schools, colleges and universities.

We teach stopmotion / 2D animation, running group activities and projects. The students are guided through a therapeutic, experimental ideation and production process, as well as taught how to construct cohesive animated stories with positive social impact.

Session outcomes

By the end of the session(s), the aim is for students to:

Develop a creative outcome (e.g. performance piece, comic strip or even short video) that expresses their own mental health/identity journeys
Have higher sense of self-esteem, self-awareness and pride in their own identity and social/cultural roots.
